Dear Birthparent:
Hello and Welcome! Our names are Cheryl and Randy. We are delighted to have the opportunity to present our family to you and hope that you find us to be the perfect fit for your precious little one. We are excited to be on this journey and appreciate the beauty in the loving choices you are making for your child.
Our Story – My husband and I met in college at Princeton University in a science class and used to go to lunch together afterwards. Our friendship was special and as time passed, it blossomed into an amazing relationship. Six years later we married, and have been happily married for over 10 years now. We have a beautiful 3 year-old son, Noah who is an absolute joy and we are eager to welcome our second child. We are very excited for Noah to have a brother or sister to grow up with.
We have tried for over a year to have a second child and give Noah a sibling, but we have been unable to conceive. Infertility has been difficult, and there have been many disappointments. However after making the decision to adopt, we feel as if a weight has been lifted from us and HOPE has entered our home and our hearts. We are waiting for the special baby that was meant to be our second child to arrive and complete our family.
Noah is full of life and enjoys playing and exploring outside. He is smart, funny and lovable. We know that he is going to make a fantastic big brother. He is currently in preschool and really enjoys it. In addition he attends music, art, and gym classes after school and on weekends. We started Noah very early in pre-school (around 2 years of age). We believe it is really important for children to be around other children. Because of my light work schedule, I have the luxury of bringing and picking Noah up from school, and spending many afternoons with him.
We live in a family friendly neighborhood located in New York. We own a spacious home on a large piece of property, with plenty of room to run and play. Our home consists of 5 bedrooms, 5 ½ bathrooms, living room, kitchen, dining room, family room, playroom and a large finished basement. We have a gated heated swimming pool that we enjoy with family and friends in the spring and summer months. We think our area is the ideal place to raise a family. There are great schools, many families with young children, and we are centrally located to just about everything. We can travel to New York City to see a Broadway show one day and the next day relax on a beautiful beach in the country. Where we live we get to experience all four seasons.
We think about you often as well as the amazing amount of love you have for your baby. We will be sure to help your child understand that your decisions were made with extreme care and entirely with LOVE. We wait with open arms to welcome this precious baby into our family. Photos and updates – Because deciding to let another couple raise your child is such a difficult decision for a birth parent, we can understand how some birth parents would like to hear and see how the baby is doing. We understand that receiving updates is an individual preference and realize that there are different levels of openness in adoption. For us, we are willing to provide occasional updates and photos for you so you can be kept up to date – via the agency. We are simultaneously nervous and excited to be going through the adoption process. We understand the awesome responsibility of adoption. We are excited to meet our baby and raise him/her with unconditional love. We think of our future son or daughter daily and we wonder how you are and when our paths will cross. There are so many beautiful adoption stories. Historically we think of Moses, and more recently country singer, Faith Hill. Adoption is a selfless decision; we will always have great respect and gratitude for you as our child’s birth parent (s). We welcome any opportunity to talk with you and answer any other questions you may have. If you would like to speak with us, or have questions about us or adoption, a caring, well-informed member of “Adoption Alliance” can assist you. You can reach them toll free by calling 1-800-626-4324.
With respect,
Cheryl & Randy
